You ain't going to Branson....... *IF* you install more speed assests and test them before you leave, cause you'll BREAK YOUR CAR just testing those parts.
Line-locs are good to have.
But photo that bad caliper cause I don't see many of those. And you should rebuild BOTH of them.
Clean-out those o-rings channels REALLY WELL!
And CRAP still in those channels.....makes it a bitch to reassemble!

honestly PQ given the two month time frame and my list of things to do chances are it will just get replaced with one from the parts car. then i will work on rebuilding both fronts over the summer.
there has been talk of adding a class to the shootout......a women only class involving the spouse/girlfriends. i think it would be maybe spark more enrties in all the classes.
i would say it would be based on the amount of time frame we have at the track if we can squeeze in the class or if we may need to just allow a hubby/wife car to be entered in a class twice, once for each driver.
and yes that means i am gonna let candi unleash my car on the track.. |

Oh, I see. So you think you're gonna come across cars that were NEVER stored and the lid for the brake reservoir was replaced years ago so it was sealed.
Years ago I had a simular, braking problem that we couldn't find easily.
Turned out to be a bad RUBBER HOSE with a internal fault. Even using BOTH FEET you couldn't lock-up the brakes!
I replaced that rubber hose while restoring that front 4X4 axle. Problem was gone.
You got 4 hoses up front. You gonna replace those with OLD, USED PARTS TOO? |

no the brakes all work fine on this 88 i have here sitting that i got from slowquest, so i know its got a good front caliper on it. i am not trying to cut corners i am just trying to use all of my time wisely cause i only have two months to get all this done. and not having full access to the shop like i used to its going to be tricky.
with the brakes i just want to get all my parts lined up before i tear into them cause i dont wannt have to backtrack. like i mentioned a line lock, well i am pretty sure its getting one and installing it while i am going to have lines loose with the caliper already would be smart. last year i also just cleaned out the master cylinder and didnt put in new seals or anything so its getting a rebuild also.
then i of course need to address the booster which i am sure we can find a working one for it between my 88 and the 2 parts cars herb has at his house. its possible i assemble something wrong when i put it back together when i painted the engine bay so we will see once i get it torn apart.
i should be ordering the line lock setup this week when i get paid on friday that way once i get ahold of that i can start work on the brakes cause i wasnt lying when i said that will be the first thing addressed. |

Removing one caliper at a time...... like 10 minutes and then rebuild it in the shop. Who is gonna know?
You say you're not "cutting corners"....... BS!
You are a TYPICAL painter.
You RELY......on that piston to BACK-OFF! It'll cost you HP!
Did the 88 MC see the TSB recall? |

ok lets not turn this thread into another post about my car, there are plenty of other posts for that.
this post is to get people interested in coming to branson for the SHOOTOUT.
who do you guys always say it....
IF YOU AINT RACING.....STFU!
i keep hearing talk of a mean yellow MPI car....
Albuquerque, NM to Branson,MO
867 mi – about 13 hours 30 mins
Lancaster,OH to Branson,MO
701 mi – about 11 hours 14 mins
just for the record, branson has a airport......JETANGEL! you can bring in the family jet.... have the car sent up on a trailor and meet it there.
if nothing else you can sit in the stands and be my cheerleader |

well it appears that so far we have a big awsome total of 5 people registered for the branson shootout.
2 of those 5 are me and herb.
i really thought more people would gain interest in this shootout. |

Like I said over at 26liter, I'm paid for 3 positions total. 2 for the MPI class, 1 for a TBI class, which one depends on what gets done to the red car in the meantime....
I've done my part....lol |
