Just clean all the old grease off of it.......and apply new grease to the center hole.

DON'T GO CRAZY WITH THE GREASE! You don't want it spinning around inside the Dist. Shocked

This is part #2 that OLD NASTY GREASE can cause SLOW MOVEMENT or even SIEZED TIMING ADVANCED! Shocked

There is a pressed in bearing at the bootom of the housing. Place some grease on it and flipr the Dist shaft over and push the grease up inside the bearing. Note the wear marks on the shaft from the bearing.

Note the "D" shape at the top of the shaft and where the alignment marks are on the gear for proper re-assembly.

Dist O-ring MD602412 $3.69 retail $2.95 net. Yes, it's a special O-ring.

REMEMBER, you should have taken this assembly apart and cleaned/re-lubed the "GUTS" too.

20 year old GREASE is not "SLICK"......which it needs to be!!! Rolling Eyes
