Tap to 10mm X 1.25 pitch

Image
This is a Marnel "AMC" head. I was able to tap it to 10mm using just my hand on the chuck. I wouldn't call it very hard material. Rolling Eyes

Gold stud is the Marnel stud. Black stud (which provides a few more threads into the head) Napa stud.
Note I only changed the TOP ROW to 10mm studs........cause that's where the LOAD is carried.

Over-size drill the manifold to 27/64 so the manifold can expand without pressing against the studs.Image

I recommend you keep these heat shields. No point in providing super hot air to the inlet of your turbo or melting your accordian pipe.

A system should have a SS EXPANSION/FLEX JOINT!

Image
You hang/suspend your rear exhaust system with it's own suspension parts (rubber o-rings).....hang your down-pipe...then close together with the SS flex-joint. Wink

Remember...your engine is gonna flex under exceleration! You DO NOT WANT the entire exhaust system to......RIDE ALONG WITH THE MOVEMENT! That is PURE-HELL on the exhaust manifold studs!

Image

Also.... 2.5" x 10 feet ALUMINIZED EXHAUST PIPE is only about $30 from Carquest. Cutting it....and bending it at a exhaust shop should not be THAT expensive. Wink NEGOCIATE THE DEAL!

Or at least check-out the competion for another application.

Justpaus has a Lexus IC300 with SS mandrel bent exhaust system that fit like a glove....and is about HALF-PRICE of what KDM wants...and IS NOT SS....and it fitted like CRAP!! Rolling Eyes

People that SAY they were "happy" with KDM parts...were given HUGE-PRICE-BREAKS if they said they were "happy" on a BS feed-back forum.
SCAM CITY! Rolling Eyes
